Taste, founded by Patti Watson, is an accomplished multi-disciplinary design firm dedicated to creating quality interiors for the residential market and hospitality industries.

We're proud of our growing reputation as a leading design firm and appreciative of accolades from the media and our design peers - the most recent being the Gold Award in Interior Design in Rhode Island Monthly's 2009 Annual Design Awards, our third award in as many years.

Our creative services focus on three disciplines of design. Depending on the nature and scope of a project, a client may engage us in one or all three disciplines of design.

Renovation Planning/New Construction Design

For the client interested and or engaged in a renovation project sized big or small, we offer a design service devoted specifically to space and renovation planning. This may include a one-room addition to a home, the retooling of an existing room to maximize efficiency or a whole house renovation to enhance room flow and create a cohesive space personal to our clients.

For the client interested and or engaged in new construction, we offer unparalleled interior design from concept to completion in collaboration with developers, architects, builders and engineers.

Interior Design

This service includes the planning and design of lighting, custom millwork, cabinetry, finish materials and color - often the second step in a renovation planning or new construction project.

Decoration

Interior design is not complete without consideration to decoration. Décor is our full service interior decorating practice devoted to the selection, purchase and placement of furniture, art and accessories.

Our end product encompasses all aspects of interior design - from the classic and traditional to modern and innovative. At Taste we are dedicated to creating interiors tailored to a client's intentions for living or working - with special consideration for personal style and influences. The quality of our work is driven by Patti's sense of detail and her knowledge and sensitive understanding of the craft to create beautiful interiors.

With an office in the island village of Jamestown, Rhode Island, our current work includes the complete renovation of Providence loft apartments, historic homes, a shingle styled coastal cottage, a popular city restaurant and the design of new construction high-rise residences in collaboration with a leading New England developer and multimillion dollar construction company.
