Newport Shingle Style

When two busy corporate executives needed a place to escape and be together, conveniently located to entertain family and friends, they purchased a newly-built Newport shingle style, and chose taste to help them make it their own.

The personalization process touched every area of the home, including the creation of a paneled mahogany library with a fireplace – a space that was our client’s favorite room until the creation of a third-floor man cave that includes a working kitchen and a lifetime’s worth of Yankee’s memorabilia won that honor. Our most recent project is a tricked-out outdoor shower that perfectly blends with the architecture and craftmanship of the home and finishes the outdoor amenities.

Creating a home presents an opportunity to bond with the local community, and our clients actively embraced this. Many custom furnishings, finishes, and artworks were commissioned from area craftspeople and artists – truly unique touches that weave the homeowner’s aesthetic preferences beautifully into this sophisticated, comfortable retreat.

Key Takeaway:

Lesson Learned from the Newport Shingle Style

Over the course of creating the Newport Shingle Style, our clients worked closely with every member of the taste team – an experience both sides found highly enjoyable. Working together creates real relationships and to this day, we’re pleased to call the Karen and Rich our friends.
