Threads of Time
About the Exhibition
On display at Taste Design in Newport, RI, from July-November 2025, this special exhibit offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the legendary Kravet Archive, an extraordinary collection of more than 60,000 textiles, artifacts, and design documents from around the world.
The exhibit features original gouache artworks and historic textile patterns from the Vanoutryve mill in Belgium, now part of the permanent Kravet Archive. These documents served as the foundation for some of the most iconic wallpaper and fabric designs in modern interiors, including G.P. & J. Baker and Brunschwig & Fils.
Scott Kravet, Kravet’s Chief Creative Officer, is the visionary behind the Archive’s expansion. Often called the “Indiana Jones of textiles,” Scott has incredible stories from his global search for design treasures.
Curated by Scott and Kravet Archivist Lina Forrester, this is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to explore the history behind the patterns and textiles we know and love.
