I’ve always been a maker. I learned to hand-sew in first grade, stitching little creatures with button eyes as gifts. By nine, I had my first sewing machine and was taking lessons to make my own clothes. I still remember walking into a fabric store for the first time, choosing material for my inaugural project - a pencil skirt with darts and an invisible zipper. In sixth grade I learned to crochet, and suddenly the world of textiles felt twice as big. Growing up in Providence, I spent countless hours at the RISD Museum, absorbing the colors and textures of 18th-century paintings, Grecian gold, and ancient Japanese textiles.
I studied Studio Art at Skidmore, concentrating in Fiber Art and Jewelry with a minor in Art History. After graduating, I knew I wanted a creative, collaborative place to grow - Taste Design checked every box. I learn from the team every day and love expanding my art and design background while building new skills I never had access to before.
When I’m not at Taste (or driving the Taste van), you’ll find me crocheting or working at my jewelry bench. I run my own jewelry line, And What? Studio, creating organic, sculptural pieces through lost-wax casting. I’m inspired by walks in nature; interesting branches and delicate leaves often make their way into my designs. On weekends I work at a vintage store, where I’m usually working and shopping simultaneously.
