Susan Dansereau

Designer

I came to interior design through fine art, earning a BFA in Painting from Rhode Island College and later working in graphic design at Brown University. Seeking to work more spatially, I completed AutoCAD coursework at RISD and began my interiors career at a Providence-based design-build firm. I then worked for an interior designer, where I developed a deep appreciation for antiques and historic detail. My formative professional years were spent at Morris Nathanson Design, a hospitality studio renowned for restaurant projects around the world, where I learned the shared language of design and how ideas are refined, documented, and built. I now bring over 15 years of experience designing and drafting interiors.

Outside the studio, I am a jewelry designer and the founder of Dansereau Jewelry, where I create sculptural, handcrafted pieces cast in heritage metals, designed to evoke forms that feel both ancient and contemporary. I am also a painter and co-run a figure drawing collective. I spend much of my time traveling, antiquing, practicing yoga, and reading, and I’m currently studying Italian. At home in Pawtuxet Village, with my husband, dog, and cat, I love gathering friends for dinner parties, learning to garden, and exploring Narragansett Bay by boat.
